The 4th Sino-Dutch Urban Agriculture Academic Forum was successfully held

On December 6, 2022, "Sustainable Development of Sino-Dutch Horticulture Industry and Talent Cultivation - The 4th Sino-Dutch Urban Agriculture Academic Forum", organized by China Urban Agriculture Vocational Education Group and Lentiz Education Group and hosted by Sino-Dutch Urban Agriculture Vocational Education Exchange Center and Beijing Vocational College of Agriculture, was successfully held. Total 218 participants from 37 member organizations have attended the forum via the online meeting.

Mr. Fan Shuangxi, Chairman of China Urban Agriculture Vocational Education Group and President of BVCA, and Mr. Frits Veltkamp, Vice Chairman of China Urban Agriculture Vocational Education Group and Director of International Projects of Lentiz Education Group, delivered speeches.

President Fan Shuangxi said in his speech that this year is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Netherlands. “China-Dutch Urban Agriculture Academic Forum” jointly organized by China Urban Agriculture Vocational Education Group and Lentiz Education Group was in line with the comprehensive partnership between the two countries. As agricultural education groups, both sides are responsible for the important mission of cultivating talents for horticulture industry in both countries.

China and the Netherlands: sustainable future together
Mr. Frits Veltkamp in his speech briefly introduced Lentiz Education Group and expressed that China and the Netherlands can create a sustainable future together. We would like to continue to train more capable students and experts together to promote the growth and development of modern urban agriculture in the world.

Five experts from Dutch and Chinese institutions, including Mr. Gert Dral, Chinese consultant of the Dutch Alliance for the Whole Industry Chain in Facility Agriculture; Ms. Li Zeng, manager of Lentiz International Projects, gave keynote speeches and shared their successful experiences and research results in sustainable development of horticulture industry and talent training from different perspectives for the participants.

At the end of the forum, the participants and the experts had a discussion on the current situation of sustainable development of horticulture and looked forward to more in-depth cooperation between the Netherlands and China in the field of agricultural vocational education.
